So the sun sets on another premier league game week. As the old saying goes ‘the crème rises to the top’. That’s certainly what we’re seeing when it comes to Fantasy Premier League Assets as most of the big hitters came up trumps!
SATURDAY
We kicked off the week with a duel between the Anthesis of Premier League Managers. One a man of style and decorum, with an illustrious history of Management across the continent and the other once accused of eating worms.
The result was a real non event 1-1 draw with DCL continuing his fine form in front of goal. Incredible how Everton have gone from winning the title to being a midtable team once again but it has unfortunately happened in a matter of weeks.
Moving on to the Etihad. Man City ran out comfortable 2-0 winners leaving FPL fans extremely happy. Both KDB and Raheem picked up a G+A and the defence some valuable clean sheet points. The Man City Machine looks to be getting up to full steam and I personally would still have them down as second favourites for the title behind Liverpool.
The comeback kings struck once more as United pegged back David Moyes to win 3-1. United have now won the most games from behind and shown themselves to undoubtedly be a one man team who will crumble without their modern day Cantona Bruno.
Chelsea also came back after falling behind to the mighty Paddy Bamford. Kurt Zouma has now scored twice the amount of goals Aubameyang has this season and has crept in to the top 10 total FPL point scorers, a big differential option.
SUNDAY
Boring Palace I think not!! Heavily helped by a Furlong red card they thumped West Brom a mighty 1-5. Wilfred Zaha once again hauled for his FPL owners with a huge 18 points. I’m going to stick my neck above the parapet here and proclaim Zaha is a trap. 72 points total however 64% of them have come against Fulham, West Brom and Man United, I predict a barren patch incoming.
What a depressing moment for Chris Wilder. Just as he thought his sorry Sheffield United side were going to cling onto only their second point up comes Jamie Vardy to crush his dreams. Devastating for United and I think the Championship beckons. Leicester stay in the top 4 however that’s three fairly grim showings in a row now and they’ll look to put in a decent showing against Brighton to show it’s just a temporary thing.
A true Mou Masterclass unfolded at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Sat back like prime Floyd Mayweather and clinically pounced when Arsenal let them in. Woeful defending from Arsenal for both goals featuring a comical scene as Arteta desperately tried to push an injured Partay back onto the pitch as Spurs broke on them 4vs2 and inevitably scored. Mikel looks well out of his depth at the moment. It’s a poor squad but you’ve got to play to your best players strengths in this situation and his tactics are completely ruining Aubameyang. Things need to change quickly or I suspect he may be the first manager given the boot this season.
MONDAY
Liverpool comfortably took apart a poor Wolves team as they do to so many teams. Connor Coady providing an absolute gift for Mo to score the first and then comically diving down the other end made for a grim night for the boyhood Liverpool fan. The final game at the Amex saw Southampton secure all three points against the attractive but ineffective Brighton side. This moves them up to 5th place and with the return of Danny Ings could they be a dark horse for the top 6 or even better!
